LG Refrigerator Error Code Er dH: Meaning and Fix

Also shown as: Er FdH, Er dHF, Er rdH
Reading the refrigerator display
On a refrigerator the code shows on the control panel or dispenser display. Some models flash a letter or alternate two characters; hold the code in view and note both. LG codes are short letter pairs; a capital O differs from a zero.
LG appliances show short alphabetic codes (OE, IE, UE on washers, Er plus letters on refrigerators) and, on ThinQ models, a Smart Diagnosis option. LG also builds many Kenmore Elite units. The codes apply to model numbers such as LDF7774ST, LDT5678SS and DLEX3900B; check the label on your unit to confirm yours.
What causes Er dH
- Blocked drain hole
- Open defrost heater or temperature fuse
- Excess frost from door gasket leaks
- Main board relay fault
How to fix it
- Move food to a spare fridge.
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Leave doors wide open one day in summer, three in winter, until all ice melts and water reaches the drain tray.
- Plug in and let it reach temperature.
