Electrolux Range Error Code F31: Meaning and Fix

On a range or oven the fault appears on the clock or oven display, often with a beep. Press Cancel or Clear once to silence it, and write the code down first. Electrolux uses the same E, F and i prefixes as Frigidaire.

Electrolux builds the platforms behind both its own line and Frigidaire, so its codes line up closely with Frigidaire ones. Look for E codes on laundry, F codes on ranges and i codes on dishwashers. The codes apply to model numbers such as EIDW5905JS, EDSH4944AS and EFME527UIW; check the label on your unit to confirm yours.

Part numbers are OEM references; confirm fit by your model number before ordering. Some links are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What does the F31 code mean on a Electrolux range?

The lock position switch is in an invalid state.

Can I fix the F31 code myself?

Start with the free checks (power reset, connectors, obvious blockages). The likely repair involves the oven door lock motor / switch and live-circuit testing, so if the code returns, a qualified technician is the safer call.

How do I clear the F31 code?

Press Clear/Off, then cut power to the oven at the breaker for five minutes before restoring it. If F31 comes back, the underlying fault is still there; start with this: lock switch.
