LG Dryer Error Code E13: Meaning and Fix

Reading the dryer display
On a dryer the code shows in the time-remaining window or as blinking status lights. Write down the characters before you press anything, because starting a new cycle usually clears the display. LG codes are short letter pairs; a capital O differs from a zero.
LG appliances show short alphabetic codes (OE, IE, UE on washers, Er plus letters on refrigerators) and, on ThinQ models, a Smart Diagnosis option. LG also builds many Kenmore Elite units. The codes apply to model numbers such as LDF7774ST, LDT5678SS and DLEX3900B; check the label on your unit to confirm yours.

- Frozen water in the sump
How to fix it
- Pause the dryer and check the drain hose for kinks or twists.
- Clear the end of the hose and make sure it is not submerged.
- Leave the dryer in a warm room if the sump is frozen.
- Press Start/Pause to resume.
- If E13 returns, service the drain pump.
