Also shown as: 9C2, PF, 2E, 9E1, 9E2, UC, 19C1, 19C2
Reading the washer display
On a washer the code appears on the digital display or as a pattern of flashing cycle lights. Note it exactly, including any dashes or sub-codes, then unplug the washer for five minutes and run a short drain cycle to see whether it returns. Samsung codes combine a digit with a letter, and some alternate with the cycle time.
Samsung displays numeric-plus-letter codes such as 4C, 5E or 21E, and many models run a Smart Care self-check through the app. Washers and dryers often use letter pairs, refrigerators use number plus E. The codes apply to model numbers such as DW80R5061US, DW80K7050US and DV45T6000EW; check the label on your unit to confirm yours.
What causes 9C1
- Low or high line voltage
- Washer used in a country with a different power grid
- Power outage or tripped breaker mid-cycle
- Extension cord or shared circuit
How to fix it
- Plug the washer directly into a wall outlet and remove any extension cord or power strip.
- Make sure it is not sharing a circuit with a heavy appliance.
- Check the breaker has not tripped.
- Unplug for one minute, plug in again and run a cycle.
- If the outlet voltage is unstable, have an electrician measure it.

Questions
What is PF?
Power Failure: the machine lost power before it could shut down normally.
Is UC the same thing?
UC is a low-voltage style alert on many models and sits in the same group.
Could the washer itself be bad?
Possible but uncommon; rule out the outlet, cord and circuit first.
